San Juan de los Terreros is a picturesque Spanish holiday resort in the beautiful region of Almería. The crystal blue sea and beautiful coves with their gently shelving sandy beaches and wonderful views guarantee an ideal setting to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The castle is one of the main attractions with a short but interesting walk to the tower, the reward, spectacular views up and down the coast across the flat plains of the area. The sharp jagged peaks of the mountains behind the resort frame the skyline as the sun goes down . Further into the mountains there are old iron and silver mines, and a stiff uphill walk is worthwhile in order to see the old workings and ruined villages where the miners lived. This is an ideal location for all the family and with its mild winters, average annual temperatures of 25 degrees and approximately 320 days of sunshine makes a perfect break any time of year.
The village offers a wide range of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and other small shops
The house is a short walk from the beach and village centre. A car parking space is available close to the house and there is a shared enclosed swimming pool less than 100 metres away.
The house is new, modern and bright with a lounge and dining area with marble stairs leading to the first floor. There is a shower room on the ground floor. The kitchen is well equipped and has a door leading to a small rear patio with utility area.
The lounge area is equipped with warm/cool air-conditioning, English and Spanish TV, CD/DVD player
The first floor has a double bedroom and a twin bedded room (these beds can also be converted to a king size bed if required). Both the bedrooms have large built in wardrobes and are fully air-conditioned. There is a bathroom on the first floor with shower over bath and a bidet.
There is also a sofa bed in the lounge for extra sleeping accommodation.
The staircase extends up to the roof terrace, ideal for sunbathing, with views of the sea and mountains surrounding the bay.
The house is close to a landscaped area which includes a children's play area.
The main village beach is just a few minutes walk away and features a promenade stretching the length of the bay with a variety of restaurants and beach cafés. Table tennis, basketball, football and beach gym equipment are to be found in this area. There is ample beach car parking.
Within a five minute drive there are many small beaches ideal for small children having sandy beaches and safe bathing.
If golf is your game then the Mundo Aguilon course is 5 minutes away by car whilst a little further afield but within easy driving distance are the courses at Desert Springs, Cortijo Grande, Mojácar Marina, Valle del Este and Playa Macenas.
San Juan de los Terreros is easily reached from the airports of Almería or Murcia (both about an hours drive) whilst Alicante airport is about 1 hour 45 minutes.
